Pain

Although acute pain typically is initiated by an injury or event that sends signals that cause the brain to experience pain, pain that persists is often caused by sensitization of the nervous system to such signals. Sensitizing influences include inflammation (infectious, toxic, metabolic), psycho/spiritual events, and learned patterns of experience.

As practitioners, our role in support of healing is to reduce (through manual and energetic therapies) the signals that are sent to the brain and reduce the sensitization of the brain by ameliorating inflammation (detoxification, gut healing, antimicrobial therapies) and promoting healthy patterns of experience.
