Aging and Health Optimization

We all age.  There are biological changes that predictably occur over time:  examples include shortening of the ends of chromosomes (telomeres) with each cellular division, lowered production of intrinsic factor needed to absorb Vitamin B12, reduction in bone density, loss of muscle and nerve cells, and reduced volume of reproductive cells and associated hormones.  Often there is a tendency to notice a change in how we feel or function and attribute that to the inevitability of the aging process, but increasingly science is learning about ways to turn back or slow down the ticking of the biological clock.

Based on this science, IHP has developed an approach to extending longevity while maintaining health as we age.  The IHP Aging and Health Optimization program offers a menu of diagnostic options using conventional insurance-covered and specialized testing to assess various aspects of aging and chronic illness prevention and then provides personalized recommendations for lifestyle interventions, and supplements and medication based on them and the bioscience of aging.  For a full description of the approach, click here.  To watch or listen to us talk about the program, click here.
