Personal Statement

I approach my practice from a strengths-based and wellness perspective, not seeing you as a diagnosis or as defined by illness, but rather as an individual with your own story existing in a unique social environment, which has shaped your overall health and quality of life. I see my role as a partner, coach and ally to explore the layers of your present health, to aid you in identifying personal goals, and to tailor a treatment plan that works best for you. I strive to create a calm and caring therapeutic relationship and safe space to support you. My approach to patients includes evidenced-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness grounded in warmth, humor and compassion. I believe in holistic care and feel more clinicians must step back and look at the whole person versus consistently dividing mental and physical health. I approach my practice as a firm believer in the mind/body connection and see trauma, emotional and spiritual pain can also be some of the root causes or contributing factors, versus the branch approach to treatment that often prevails in treatment. I am grateful to have such a unique opportunity to collaborate with like-minded colleagues at Integrative Health Practices to be part of your wellness team.
